31 Days of Gratitude Journal: Day 21

Today I’m thankful for prayer. Yes I’m thankful for the ability to be able to pray. I’m thankful that God hears my 2 seconds prayers and my 30 mins prayers. That He hears me when I say it out loud or when I don’t.

This year for me hasn’t quite been one of a spiritual high. I was sharing with a friend recently on how roller coaster like this year has been for me emotionally. Despite everything, the place of prayer has been a safe place. I’m reminded of this hymn.

“What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer”

Songwriters: Charles C. Converse / Joyce Eilers Bacak / Joseph M. Scrivener

Prayer is a gift that I’m forever thankful for.

Let me know what you are thankful for in the comment section.
