31 Days of Gratitude Journal: Day 16

At the beginning of last year, the Holy Spirit laid it on my heart to get a mentor who I will be accountable to. Even though I have quite a few older women who I admire, I didn’t have anyone who particularly played this role. I’m a firm believer of older women teaching younger women. Of course I understand that not every older woman is wise and that there are a lot of younger women that are wise. But this was just something the Holy Spirit was drawing me to.

Even though the Holy Spirit told me who this person was, I was very hesitant to approach her because I didn’t want her to feel bothered.

At the beginning of the year, this desire became very strong in my heart and I was wondering how I was going to go about it. One evening the lady sent me a text message saying that it has been in her heart to mentor me and she gave me the invitation to be one of her mentees.

I was so excited and of course quickly accepted the invite. I really thank God for granting me this desire that I have longed for for a while.

Let me know what you are thankful for in the comment section😊

I love this idea. We olders have a lot of experience to share, but we also can learn from you. I would hope that more and more women choose to do this.

    1. Absolutely. The wisdom that comes with experience should never be despised. It will help us not to repeat the mistakes the older generation made. I personally learn a lot when I’m with older godly women. I believe many have a lot to share but they are put off by the arrogance of the younger women. This is sad indeed
