Today I’m thankful for my daughters. Last year they mentioned that they would love to do something for the less privileged. When the pandemic hit, they were very concerned about the welfare of the homeless and in their own little way they decided to do a fundraiser at the front of our house to raise money for the homeless. They sold some cakes, items they’ve outgrown and items donated from friends. Our neighbour also made some brownies and cookies to help out.
Isabella who is my eldest looked at the forecast for the event date and realised it was going to rain all day. She prayed asking for God to stop the rain so they could have their event. On the day of the event, we woke up to rain. She came to me and asked if God was going to answer her prayer. I prayed and asked God to please hear my 9 years old daughter’s prayer as I hoped that the rain would stop. Alas few minutes before the event started, the rain stopped and we had dry skies. About 30mins after the event, the rain started again.
My girls were excited and shared how this helped strengthen their faith in our prayer answering God.
The event was a huge success and they were able to raise £120.50 which they used in buying items for a charity that looks after the homeless in Manchester.
I’m really thankful to God for helping them do this. I also give thanks for how God has captured their hearts for Him.
You’re raising them right
