2020 came with her share of challenges. Where do I even begin? Despite all the pains and tears, I know that there’s also been great things that happened to me this year. As a result, I would love to close this year in the spirit of gratitude. Each day I will be sharing a post on what I am thankful for this year.

Sincerely, at the top of my head, I don’t think I have 31 things to share. This is a good thing because it will cause me think, look and reflect more than I would usually do.

I’m making this gratitude journal public because I want to publicly share the goodness of God and to remind us all that God is still good and He still does good and great things! It will be nice to read about your testimonies in the comment section.

I will like to start this journal by thanking God for life. The past weeks has been flooded with death announcements on social media and it’s been making me think more of how fragile our lives really are. I thank God for keeping every member of my family alive. We entered the year complete. I trust God that bring us all to the end of the year and that we will be complete in number. I’m thankful for this.

    Security and assurance in God’s love
    Open doors
    Family togetherness
    God’s great provision
    Good friends and Family
    Good health and safety
    Knowing that God’s is in control of my familys destiny.
    Laughter, In the midst of chaos
    Divine joy
    . Last but not least the presence of God that is always present at any time any place anywhere, In every situation, every circumstance.

    Life is so precious. Sadly, it has been a constant flow of death for almost everyone.
    Several people losing more than one loss. Many from Covid, and just as many from the things that were already killing us. We lost an aunt and a cousin in our family and dear friends, but God has spared far more.
    In what feels like a year of death, I am refreshed to hear you choose Life… and first thing! 🙂

      1. Loss makes one grateful. I was catching up with a friend from my stepdad’s church today and he has already lost 3 first cousins, his mother, and his father in law already this year. Yet his heart was still very thankful for God.

      3. Thank you, friend. I’ve recently gained such joy and encouragement from Christmas music and the enthusiasm of church friends who have went from feel depression over loss they had recently to shining with such joy when she decided to decorate despite. That inspired all of us. And I find it is helping so much that I am intentionally making effort to listen to and watch Christmas material. What a gift God gives in doing so. 😊

  3. Efua, I can’t think of a better way to round out 2020 than living out on your blog 1 Thessolonians 5:18 “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

    Thank you for the invitation to take part in this with you. In light of the disappointments of 2020, I’m thankful that my husband whose job which kept him away for much of the waking hours of the day now has him working virtually. As a result, I’ve seen our bond as a family grow stronger. As traveling is more unpredictable, I’m thankful for the moments we get to spend with extended family and have learned not to take those visits for granted. As my nation roils with chaos, division, and anger, I’m grateful more than ever for the peace of Christ which surpasses all understanding and His Word which is the rock on which I can stand during all the uncertainty. I’m grateful for the encouragement of the body of Christ I’ve found in the blogging community. When I began blogging last year, I never imagined I would find such amazing and inspiring men and women of faith. I look forward to your daily posts this December. Gratitude is contagious and I pray that reading your posts will inspire many to turn to the Lord with thanksgiving in their heart. Blessings!
