Our role in God’s redemptive purpose is purely by His grace and according to the good pleasure of His will.
No one gets to choose where he or she wants to be in Christ because actually we were created anew in Christ and chosen in Him even before the foundation of the world.
Ephesians 1:4 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love (KJV).”
The christian’s high calling of God is found only in Christ and is probably what creates the highest level of excitement within us when discovered and pursued. Remember; it is in Him(Christ) that we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28).
Actually, we see the phrase the high calling of God occurring only once in the New Testament in Philippians 3:14. A wording used in the King James Version of the bible. Philippians 3:14 “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (KJV).”
Ultimately, our high calling as believers is a heavenward call and there is a prize offered by God’s upward calling in Christ.
However for the purpose of this blog, I want to lay emphasis on our high calling as salts and lights of the world as that constitutes major part of the call.Every believer has been called to this ministry and because of this mandate even the world out there expects better from us.
We are called to live us lights in this crooked and perverse generation; letting our conduct fit the level we have already attained in Christ as Kings and Priests.
1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (KJV).”
This summaries our high calling as christians; showing forth the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. It is therefore our responsibility to let the world out there see the Christ in us.
Here are five keys I would like to share to help us live out our high calling in Christ because everyday of our lives has infinite potential and value;
1. Be the best that God has made you to be; for all He has made available to you, bring glory to His name.
2. Hunger for excellence, and don’t stop there, develop an appetite too for excellence in your area of calling.
3. Celebrate your victories/successes but don’t praise yourself too much or allow men to clap you away from the will of God.
4. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; because it is only in the light of His word that you see light. Remember, the word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
5. Finally, give diligence to make your calling and election sure.
Shalom; and once again I would like to thank Efua for the amazing opportunity she has given to the community to share on her blog. God richly bless her. Hope you were blessed, would love to hear your views.

The High Call and purpose of every Believer is the The Great Commission. . ….Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).

Yes. We also make disciples by being light and salt wherever we find ourselves. Light exposes wrong whilst bringing clarity on the way out of darkness (which is Jesus). Salt brings sweetness to already bitter world that we live in😊
