This is a short post just to share with you something that jumped out to me during yesterday’s church service. One of the christmas hymns we sang was ‘Oh Holy Night’, which happens to be one of my favourite christmas songs. This song is always on repeat in my house during the christmas season. I particularly like Mariah Carey’s version.
After the worship team led the worship, a pastors came up and highlighted a line from this hymn. The line was;
“…Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth”
She mentioned how void we were until we accepted Jesus Christ into our lives.
Our soul is where our emotions come from. It seeks to be valued and to have a sense of belonging. We can never understand our worth until we accept Jesus’ coming into our lives. That is only when our lives have true meaning and the vacuum in our soul are filled.
For those of us who have experienced the overwhelming love of God, He wants us to let others see His love through us. There is no better time to express this than christmas season. So as we are busy thinking of us, let’s make an effort to reach out to someone outside of our fold. That they will encounter Christ through us this season. Let’s not be a hindrance preventing others from seeing the love of Christ. As they experience this love who is Christ, their souls will also know their worth.
