Ever felt like you are being taken for granted? Ever felt like you needed to show and prove to others that your simplicity isn’t stupidity? Ever felt like you are being used? That you give everyone a shoulder to lean on but you never get any when you need one?
This feeling can make you want to quit sometimes. But one of my favourite scriptures is Galatians 6:9 and it says;
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Have you noticed the condition attached to the harvest? Yes we only reap a harvest if we do not give up. I know it’s tiring but there is a grace attached to every assignment.
Keep teaching those kids even if it looks as if they aren’t listening. Keep up with the youth group even if they give you bad attitude. Keep sending those encouraging text messages even if you never get response, feedback or a ‘thank you’. Keep serving in that church even if no one notices what you are doing. Keep showing up to work early and giving your all into your job even if your manager doesn’t notice it and you never get the recognition you deserve. Continue to be kind to that mean neighbour. Keep up with evangelism even if it’s as though you are wasting time. Keep blogging even if it looks like no one reads your posts.
A day of harvest is coming.
When we plant, we never know which one will grow. So don’t stop doing good. There is a harvest if you do not go weary.
Plant your seed in the morning and keep busy all afternoon, for you don’t know if profit will come from one activity or another–or maybe both. (Ecclesiastes 11:6).
You are graced for it! 🙂

I think anyone who does “good” feels this way at one time or another – or many times! It’s the devil’s way of trying to get us to stop. 😉

It sure is. May we be wise and not fall prey to his tactics

Thanks for this. When “doing good” gets tough, it’s important to remember the scripture does not simply say, don’t quit. It says do not grow weary.

God bless you Efua; this is a word in season for me, sometimes thoughts of giving in comes our way, but nay we will not bend.
