We had an interactive service in church yesterday where we were able to discuss about the faithfulness of God. Amongst many things that were mentioned, one thing that stood out to me is the fact that God is a shield.
As we discussed we talked about how God protects us from things we do not even know of. I think sometimes we take the ability to sleep and wake up for granted. There are a lot of things going on in the spiritual realm that we do not see. I strongly believe that there are demonic forces out there whose target is us. The fact that we have decided to follow Christ is a threat to the kingdom of darkness and as a result the devil fights us hard. There are arrows flying about to pierce us. But thank God for His protection.
When our eyes are closed, God’s eyes are opened.
When our eyes are blurry, God’s eyes are clear.
He shields not just us but also our loved ones. Have you ever imagined what your life will look like if God should shut His eyes on you for 1 second?
“What if the Lord had not been on our side? Let all Israel repeat:
What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us?
They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger.
The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us.
Yes, the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives.
Praise the Lord, who did not let their teeth tear us apart!
We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken, and we are free!
Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 124:1-8 NLT
Amen – this is a great reminder to us and important lines…May God bless you and brings much more success.

Powerful post as usual Efua! And this God-ordained dialogue is absolutely priceless. God continues to show just how He gets us just what we need, and when we need it most! Praying God’s rich blessings upon you both and that He would enlarge your territories as you continue to avail yourselves to Him!

😊Amen. Thanks for your kind words. God is good indeed and like you said He knows how to help us in time of need. He uses each and everyone one of us in His body (church) to reach us. We are family!

Absolutely. Like Shae said in the comment section, imagining Him not being there for a second is scary. Thank God for being our hiding place.

Oh, how I love interactive discussions. When I was in school I learned so much more from class discussions than I did from lectures. I do believe this is the way the body of Christ is supposed to operate. We are to encourage, counsel, teach, share, comfort, and build up one another in the faith. We are to urge, incite, and exhort, too, to get us going in the right direction and to encourage us away from the wrong direction. We need one another. We need these times when we can share with one another what God is teaching us individually. This is so lacking in today’s church.
Yes, we are absolutely in spiritual warfare. The enemy is coming strong against us, so we need to be lifting one another up in prayer, too. I need prayer. the enemy definitely has his ways in which he fights against me on a regular basis. And, there are days when I just want to go home to heaven and be with my Lord forever, but yet I know God is not finished with me yet, so I will remain, as Paul said, for the strengthening of my brothers and sisters in Christ.
And, oh yes, where would I be without the Lord and his shield? Dead probably or still wandering in sin. His shield doesn’t necessarily keep us from being persecuted or from suffering or from being hated, abused, slandered, or mistreated in other ways. But, he keeps us through these times. He makes us strong through our suffering. He leads us in the way we should go. And, he uses the suffering we go through to make us compassionate, caring and willing to lay it all down for him and to suffer for the sake of his name and for the sake of the salvation of others.

❤️Sue, you have spoken really well. I can relate with everything you said. I love interactive sessions for the reasons you listed. I wish we would embrace it more.
I pray for you my sis. That God will strengthen you in this season. That God’s peace will flood your heart. I pray against every satanic attack against you and your family. I know that the Lord has raised a standard against them. And I honour Him because He is and will continue to fight for you and your family. I pray that in this season you will not give up. Yes, God is surely your shield. You and your family are under the shadow of the almighty. I pray against fear and that God will give you your heart desires in Jesus name. Amen.
I will add your request to my prayer book so I can remember to keep you in prayer always.❤️

Amen. The first scripture my Mother made me memorize was Psalm 27. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” The text is much longer but that’s how it starts off. I remember being a little girl and reciting the verses over and over not realizing she was teaching me to battle in the spirit realm with Gods word. We will forever need God and His protection. I’m just grateful that He loves us so much that He gives it freely. Blessings.

I love that scripture. So a good scripture to learn at a young age. I am equally grateful for His love. I will be nowhere without Him.
