Stop Aborting the Process

To abort is to deliberately terminate a pregnancy. I feel some of us are doing this to our processes. There could be many reasons for this. It might be because we feel we are not ready to deliver what God has placed in the inside of us. It could be because we don’t feel worthy of being the channel through which that big vision is birthed. It could be because we are comparing what we are carrying with what others have delivered; and we feel ours is too small for us to go through that long progress of waiting for. It could be that we don’t even understand the magnitude of what God has placed in us and as a result we trade it for the comfort of the moment. Whatever the reason, it’s about time we stopped aborting our processes.

God is a God of order, times and seasons. In life, there is the waiting season – which to be honest i don’t like. And then there is my favorite season – season of harvest. Despite i acknowledge that i don’t like the waiting season, i understand that the values learnt during this period is what will sustain the blessing when it comes. Does waiting hurt? Of course it does. But if we terminate and put an end to every process God puts us through, we have also terminated the lessons needed to sustain our blessings.

God is a God of principles. Just as a loving father won’t give his car key to an 8 years old for him to drive, God will not give us a blessing we are not disciplined enough to look after.

We cannot by-cut the process and expect to get the exact thing He designed for us to get. The process is as valuable as the miracle. You might notice that you are having to go through the same circle over and over again and you might be wondering why. It could be because you haven’t passed that exam that God is taking you through.

Getting that heart desire of yours might be taking a while because God wants you to be well equipped to handle what He wants to give you. The challenge we face though is that we repeat our exams (the process) because whenever we feel symptoms of pregnancy (miracle), we abort quickly because of the long wait. Because of God’s mercies, He tends to make us resit our test whenever we fail; just so we can have another chance to get it right. Thank God for second, third, fourth and if you are like my uncountable chances that He has graciously offered me.

Despite grace and mercy are available, they aren’t always guaranteed. So i beg you to wait there! Follow it through! In the end, it will make sense why it took so long.

  1. Absolutely true! We are always in a hurry and want everything instantly. God is not a fast-food restaurant. He is the God of the Universe who created us and knows what’s best for us. In the process, we learn and mature. So, waiting is a necessary part of God’s plan for us. Thank you for the reminder.

  2. Good word! Thank you! I really liked how you describe the process and how you described aborting the process, too. We are all in process, if we are walking with the Lord, but we can abort that process when we put our hands up to God and say “No,” or when we get lazy or we get discouraged and give up, etc. I have definitely been feeling the pain of that process lately, and I feel like I am being tested greatly, and that through it God is purifying me, which is a good thing, but it is painful, I agree. So, thanks for this encouragement to keep on and to not get discouraged.

    1. Sue, God has not brought us this far to leave us. He has a plan. And even if the path to His plan feels like is taking forever, we trust that He knows what He is doing. So we will continue to praise Him in advance!

  3. Amen!!! There are times I wonder, “How long, Lord?” but I firmly believe He knows what He is doing. I just have to trust Him and cling closer to Him so that in my weakness and in His strength my faith may grow. 🙂

I’m going to share this post on the community spotlight on Inside Cup 🙂 it will come out at the end of the month.

    1. It can be hard waiting on God. But the other option will be for us to go about it our way. I don’t know what i am doing so doing life my way will only cause chaos for me. Waiting is long but it will be worth it in the end. I know you know this already. Yes, His strength is made perfect in our weakness.❤️

Thanks again for community posts. You are loved❤️🙂
