He Did This For You!

After writing part 2 of the Beatitudes Series, I decided to study and meditate on Isaiah 53 and gosh it wrecked me. I felt an overwhelming love of God as tears rushed down my cheeks. All I could mutter was God I give you my life in return for all you did for me on the cross. Instead of going ahead with what I intended to post today, I will be sharing these verses with you as I pray you experience what i experienced during my quiet time.

Who has believed our message?

To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?

My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,

like a root in dry ground.

There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,

nothing to attract us to him.

He was despised and rejected—

a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.

We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.

He was despised, and we did not care.

Yet it was our weaknesses he carried;

it was our sorrows[a] that weighed him down.

And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,

a punishment for his own sins!

But he was pierced for our rebellion,

crushed for our sins.

He was beaten so we could be whole.

He was whipped so we could be healed.

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.

We have left God’s paths to follow our own.

Yet the Lord laid on him

the sins of us all.

He was oppressed and treated harshly,

yet he never said a word.

He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.

And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,

he did not open his mouth.

Unjustly condemned,

he was led away.[b]

No one cared that he died without descendants,

that his life was cut short in midstream.[c]

But he was struck down

for the rebellion of my people.

He had done no wrong

and had never deceived anyone.

But he was buried like a criminal;

he was put in a rich man’s grave.

But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him

and cause him grief.

Yet when his life is made an offering for sin,

he will have many descendants.

He will enjoy a long life,

and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.

When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish,

he will be satisfied.

And because of his experience,

my righteous servant will make it possible

for many to be counted righteous,

for he will bear all their sins.

I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier,

because he exposed himself to death.

He was counted among the rebels.

He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

You got to at least learn some precepts to get the understanding of the Bible . Because the Bible is just call backs and confirmation . Once you understand that the better you can see . Isaiah is often dealing with Babylon in his time and in today time . The most powerful country in his time and the same today . Meaning America would be Babylon . That’s why precepts are important because many of Isaiah prophecies have not happened yet but then Christ doubled down on his teaching and prophecy .

    1. Thanks for your comment Amittai. I agree understanding the season and circumstances surrounding the times certain scriptures were written helps understand better. However I believe this particular chapter in Isaiah was fulfilled when Jesus died. Till now, many still shun Him and I understand it relates to now in that context. Are we saying the same thing? If not, please can you clarify? Thanks again🙂

  2. I especially like verse 11, that He finds satisfaction in the results of His sacrifice because it made “it possible for many to be counted righteous.” This reminds me of Hebrews 12:2 where it says that He endured the cross “for the joy set before Him”. He found joy and satisfaction in bringing us back from the brink of death to a loving and living relationship with God through His sacrifice for our sins! Praise the Lord!
