Emotionally Led?

Have you ever felt like hitting someone who is constantly annoying you? How about slamming the office door on that guy who is always in a hurry that he can’t hold the door for someone else?

I remember going to pick my girls from school one day and i came across this group of kids who were very disrespectful. The world has changed a lot from when i was growing up because if things were still the same way, i would have given those kids a good smack and lectured them on two very important habits they needed to have in life – good manners and respect. If i have gone by the way i felt, maybe i won’t be here blogging about it today because the story would have ended in a very different way that i wouldn’t have loved.

If we do everything the way we feel, we will find ourselves in trouble. If we get about living our day the way we feel and want to, we will end in misery because our emotions can make us make bad choices and decisions.

I am on a weight loss journey and sometimes I feel like eating a box of chocolate in one go. You and I know that I can’t achieve my weight loss target if I eat a box of chocolate for lunch everyday because I feel like doing it.

To be honest, the flesh will not want us to do anything that will glorify God. This is the major reason why we shouldn’t allow it rule us. The flesh wants us to sleep and not pray. The flesh wants us to eat and not fast. The flesh wants us to stay in unforgiveness. The flesh enjoys revenge.

One of my favourite bible scripture is;

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Romans 8:14

The above makes us understand that if we claim that we are God’s children, then we should be led by His spirit. We are servants to the voice we obey. We can’t choose to listen to God only in certain areas. We are to follow His leading in all areas.

To be honest, I am not perfect in this area. However, I am on a journey of disciplining myself with the help of the Holy Spirit to ensure that I am constantly in tune with my Father’s voice and that I am yielding to His leading. I know that this is for my good.

If you are on this wagon too, don’t quit. If you aren’t yet, come on board. You won’t be alone. There are a bunch of others who will help you along the way. In the end, you will find out that joining this wagon is the best decision you ever made.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  1. There are situations that even civilized people become irrational, so we show the beast that we are, and only the presence of the Spirit of the Lord by his mercy can help us, control, defend and guide.

    But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

    And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:3

    1. “Have faith and keep pushing!” That’s it. Got to get up quickly after every fall. And as for those kids, it takes a lot from me to tolerate them 😂… Having a high school near me doesn’t help either lol. Praying for more grace 🙏🏾😂

    Love this. I’ve read Romans and John several times and somehow did not remember either of those verses. Sometimes it helps just to see the verses by themselves just to make them resonate. So thanks for posting. 🙂
