Christ Is Enough!

In the old testament, we see how animals were being used to atone for the sins of God’s children (Leviticus 16) and how rigorous that process was. It makes my heart glad that i don’t have to go through that process again.

Not all of us would have been able to purchase bulls for sacrifices every time we erred. Thanks to God who gave Jesus Christ to us as a ransom for us all- “that there’s one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free.”  (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

He paid the price. His blood paid for all our sins – past, present and future. His suffering and death on the cross is sufficient enough to cover it all. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh (Romans 8:3).

We don’t have to wait for a priest to go to God on our behalf. We have the full access to the father. We don’t need to wait until the day we go to the temple before we can access Him. He is everywhere. We can access Him anytime. What a blessing!

There is no sacrifice that can be compared to the ultimate and complete sacrifice Jesus Christ did for us.

Not only did Jesus Christ sacrifice His life, but He was raised and He is now our advocate. This is the reason why someone like me has not been struck as a result of my sins. Jesus Christ is pleading to the father on my behalf. So each time He looks at me, He sees the blood of His son. Jesus Christ is all we need. Jesus Christ is enough for us.
