The Word of God in Us

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11)

The word of God in us helps us to live a godly life. I have realised that when i don’t spend time with God studying His word, i become empty on the inside and my carnal self takes over. I become very snappy, stressed, easily irritated and i over think.

When this happens, i go into the word so it can help revive me. The word of God is powerful. As a wife and a mum, life can be very demanding and stressful at times. With kids wanting my attention always and me wanting to fulfil my duties as a godly wife, i can be very worn and stretched thin at times. Times like this, i dig into the food that feeds my spirit until i become full. I understand i can never be a godly wife and mum on my own. Being a wife and a mum is an assignment given to me by God. I will have to give an account to Him on how i carried out the assignment he entrusted into my hands.

Whenever I feel out of control, I run to the One who is in control of everything. Instead of being stressed always because of my God given assignment, i now find myself exhibiting patience, self control, gentleness and other fruits of the spirit. I am not saying i get it right always but i know i am a lot better than i used to be. I have tried doing it alone and i have also tried getting support from God’s word. I can testify that the latter is way easier.

David understood the place of God’s word in his life hence he wrote the above bible scripture.

We cannot live a godly life without the help of the word of God. Trying to figure life out on our own will only amount to frustration.

Thank God that we have His word to help us through everyday.

So friends do you feel snappy today? Are you easily irritated? Do you feel angry for no reason? Do you find yourself complaining about everything? Are you yelling at everyone? Is everyone getting on your nerves? These are signs that your spirit is empty. Remember you might not be able to control everything that happens to you but you can control how you react to them. You can’t give what you don’t have. You can give happiness if you are always miserable. Dive into the word and allow the Holy Spirit to fill you up.

Don’t attempt to maneuver life alone. Be wise! Get some help in God’s word.

Wow. So blessed by this. You’re absolutely right, when we navigate life on our own it’s tough but when we learn to lean on our creator things are so much better.

  2. Hi Grace, thank you for visiting my blog. It was a pleasure reading your blog. It is very inspiring and you are doing a great job. Women need all the help and support that we can get in this world where so many things are against us. I also am dependent on God’s word to keep me every day. Keep up the good work and have a blessed weekend.

    1. Awww thank you so much. I thank God that you find my blog inspiring. You are right by highlighting the need for women to support each other. I feel it’s time we put down the barriers separating us as christians and begin to build the kingdom together. We are different part of a body. We need each other to succeed. Thanks again for your support. You are equally doing a fantastic job. God bless you sis!

On a side note, my name is Efua. I totally understand where you picked grace from :).
